Who we are

New Braunfels Candle Company started in 2014 with a dream of putting quality, handmade soy candles into the homes of friends and loved ones in New Braunfels, Texas. We are a family-owned local business choosing to use quality, all-natural soy wax, phthalate-free fragrance oils, and lead-free cotton wicks. We hope you enjoy our candles as much as we love making them.

Benefits of Soy

  • Soy candles burn cleaner. Soy candles produce no carcinogens, toxins or pollutants, and are less likely to trigger allergies. Unlike paraffin candles, soy candles do not create petrol-carbon soot (the black residue you find on walls and other furnishings around burning paraffin candles).
  • Soy candles last longer. Soy wax burns cooler, which means that you can enjoy your soy wax candle for generally 30-50% longer than a paraffin candle.
  • Supporting USA farmers. Most soybeans used in soy wax, including the the wax we use here at New Braunfels Candle Co. is grown in the USA.
  • Supporting a renewable resource. most candle waxes come from fossil fuels. Our soy wax comes from all-natural, certified kosher soybeans, a renewable resource.
  • Easy clean. Soy wax spills clean up simply with soap and water while paraffin wax spills are very time consuming and extremely difficult to completely clean up if at all.

Candle Care

  • Once burned, cotton wicks should trim/break naturally at about 3/8”. Between burnings, make sure to trim the wick, removing the black ball, or “mushroom” off the tip of the wick.
  • Allow the melted wax pool to extend to the outside rim before extinguishing the flame (usually two hours – wax has a “memory” so at subsequent burnings, the candle will melt out to the edge and burn evenly).
  • Always place on a stable, heat and stain resistant surface.
  • It is best to extinguish the candle with a candle snuffer, or by blowing it out. It is not recommended to extinguish with the lid as it will create smoke, leaving black soot in your candle and on the inside of the container.
  • Keep the wax pool clean and free of matches or foreign objects.
  • Do not place a burning candle in a draft.
  • Do not continue to burn when the solid wax content is less than 1/2” from the bottom of the container.
  • Suggested burn time is two – four hours.
